This Tuesday for our #VolunteersWithAVoice Story Hour we had David Centner, the Co-Founder of Centner Academy. He read “We All Sing With the Same Voice” by J. Philip Miller and Shep Green.
David Centner was born and raised in Miami, Florida and is a successful inventor, serial entrepreneur, tech visionary and philanthropist. He graduated from Sunset High and Wharton Business School of Business. He lived in New York where he led many successful corporate exits, before moving back to Miami with his wife Leila Centner and their four kids, aged 3 to 23. He enjoys reading to his children, and family snuggle time with their dog, Zeus.
David and his wife Leila Centner Co-Founded Centner Academy. He credits Leila Centner as a visionary in her own right, and says Centner Academy is her brainchild. David also shared the foundation of Centner Academy, being mindfulness, academics, language immersion and athletics. Centner Academy is truly one of a kind, infusing happiness into their students curriculum. Centner Academy’s goal is for their students to identify their passion and cultivate an individualist curriculum with heart.
David also shared during #VolunteersWithAVoice that he and wife Leila Centner are no strangers to hard beginnings and came from disadvantaged backgrounds. He and his wife work with kids who also come from underprivileged backgrounds and they teach that through hard work they can create fruitful lives. David believes that no matter what our differences are as people, love and connection is most important. He believes that life is short and we as a people should coexist in harmony and enjoy life together while we’re here.
David Centner read “We All Sing With the Same Voice” by J. Philip Miller and Shep Green. The book was first featured on the widely popular children’s show Sesame Street. It shares the message for children that no matter what their physical and geological differences are, they’re all the same at heart!
