LLF Kids for Kids: STEM Discoveries
LLF’s Kids for Kids: STEM Discoveries is a student-run program under the Little Lighthouse Foundation that provides students with engaging, hands-on, outside-of the-classroom learning experiences in STEM.
Led by a student board of leaders from high schools across Miami-Dade, STEM Discoveries’ goal is to introduce kids to foundational concepts in chemistry, biology, engineering, robotics, coding, and other STEM fields through interactive experiments, challenges, and activities. We aim to make STEM engaging and accessible while building students’ curiosity, problem-solving skills, and confidence.
STEM Discoveries offers programming twice each month at The Motivational Edge, with volunteers welcome to sign up and participate. Programming is divided into separate K–5 and grades 6–9 groups, allowing lessons and activities to be tailored to students’ different ages and levels of STEM knowledge.
