- The Little Lighthouse Foundation visits the Holtz Children’s Hospital and the Jackson Pediatric Center once a month for its Adopt a Meal program.
The Holtz Children’s Hospital is one of the most recognized children’s hospitals in the world, having recently been acknowledged as one of the best in five separate specialties by US News & World Report. LLF’s Adopt-A-Floor program visits the hospital’s 6th floor to provide a variety of games and entertainment to the youth patients as they await or undergo treatment.
The Jackson Pediatric Center provides services for children who receive Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) which is an alternative to at-home care. The children in the program suffer from chronic conditions which prevent them from attending school regularly. At the Jackson Pediatric Center, they are able to receive their treatment as well as continue their education with an on-site teacher.
Volunteer activities at both locations include arts & crafts, board games, themed parties, music, and assisting entertainers in putting on a show.
