We started the week with DGFG Live, #VolunteersWithAVoice Story Hour with Dan Cates. Dan Cates “Jungleman” is a professional poker player. Dan got into poker because he was originally into gaming. He was only 19 when he won his first million dollars! He has started the Dan Cates foundation which focuses on children’s education through experiential learning. He believes that by educating kids through experiences like gaming, they can find their true passion and inspire others. Through his own personal experience, he’s found that gaming can teach kids to do things they might think are impossible. The ultimate goal of the Dan Cates Foundation is to teach the world to work together. Dan joined us for a reading of Spring Things by Dr. Suess, a book about the celebration of spring.

Fit Club Presented by LaCroix with Leo

In this week’s Fit Club segment, we were joined by Fitness Instructor Leo at Crunch Fitness. Leo walked us through a diverse list of Full-Body Workouts and Stretches. At Crunch Fitness Leo Instructs a class called “Chiseled”, which consists of full body and core bending workouts.
Leo guided us through a fun and intense 20-minute workout routine. That consisted of intermediate stretches, energetic cardio, and warm smiles.

LLF FULLBODY WORKOUT
(YOU CAN USE BANDS, WEIGHTS, ANYTHING IN YOUR HOME THAT COULD REPLACE WEIGHTS/BANDS )
Walkout to push up
Walkout/two push up
Hold and Shoulder taps
Lock it out shoulder taps
Mountain climbers to warm up the hip flexors
On your feet/jumping jacks
Popcorn jump squats
Hold weight halfway/Quick feet 30 sec
Bicep curl 1 min
Hammer curls for the 2nd round
Last round of quick feet
30 seconds jumping jacks with the weight/ If it’s too much drop the weight
Shoulder Press + Back Lunges on each leg
Back Lunges + Pulses
Around the world lunges (Forward, Side, Back)
Jump Squats (30 secs)
On to the Ground
Chest Press with legs going up and down when weights go down
Change position to hammer and repeat the press w/legs
Stand up and get into back rows with triceps extend on each side.
Get back on the ground put weight behind calf and kickbacks for butt and fire hydrants
Take weight off and finish up with abs and stretch
