This Monday’s Do Good Feel Good Live started off with wellness coach, Christiana Serle Moss for our Mindful Hour Program.
As a former college athlete and current triathlete, Christiana always believed fitness and nutrition were essential to improving her overall performance. In 2014 she attended a 10-day silent meditation retreat and through that experience, she began to unlock the power of the mind and body connection and began applying mindfulness principles and techniques to many areas of her life. She now helps high achievers find presence through 1-1 coaching and works with organizations (over 200 so far!) to design wellness programs for their employees that center around mindfulness.
Christiana has been recognized as one of the Top 10 Health Promotion Professionals by the Wellness Council of America. Her intention is to improve the health, productivity, and happiness of all of her teams. Many of her clients have won many local and national awards for their employee wellness programs. Story Hour #VolunteersWithAVoice with Julianna Strout

This Tuesday for our #VolunteersWithAVoice Story Hour we had Julianna Strout, North Bay Village Commissioner. She read Pass It On by Sophy Henn.
Julianna was elected as Commissioner at Large in November 2018. She is part of a five person legislative body of the North Bay Village and, together with the rest of the commission, is responsible for taxation, appropriations, ordinances, and other general functions. Individual commissioners are also assigned executive responsibility for a specific aspect of municipal affairs, such as public works, finance, or public safety.
In Julianna ’s career, she has held various senior-level positions and enhanced her skills in marketing, finance, building projects, event planning and IT infrastructure. Julianna is a woman with a track record of commitment to the public with a strong skill set to see things get done. While residing in North Bay Village, Julianna has supported numerous community initiatives, including youth and education, infrastructure and sustainability. She regularly collaborates with residents and board members to address community issues. She also brings her great compassion for children and their future to her volunteer and fundraising efforts for Little Lighthouse Foundation, Best Buddies, Susan G. Komen and the Make A Wish Foundation.
For today’s Story Hour, Julianna Strout read Pass It On by Sophy Henn, an ode to the excitement of sharing happiness with others. With a refrain that begs to be uttered before every turn of the page, children will eagerly read alongside their parents as they discover how wonderful—and fun!—it is to share the good things in life. After all, if you spread happiness to others, even on a gray, rainy day, when you least expect it, like a bolt out of the blue, a smile or a chuckle might be passed right back to you! This heartwarming, upbeat book is the perfect way to bring a warm ray of sunshine into every reader’s life.

Story Hour #VolunteersWithAVoice with Ximena Nunez

This Wednesday for our #VolunteersWithAVoice Story Hour we had the Director of Communications for The Children’s Trust, Ximena Nunez. She read The Kindness Book by Todd Parr.
Colombian-born Ximena Nunez joined The Children’s Trust in 2019. A passionate marketing executive with more than 15 years of advertising experience, Ms. Nunez’s career began at BBDO Miami working with global brands such as Pepsi, Visa and FedEx. In 2004 she joined DDB Latina to manage the agency’s ExxonMobil account for Latin America, where she served as regional group account director. She has also led digital strategy initiatives for other brands, such as Stanley, Black+Decker and Palace Resorts Weddings, to name a few.
During her career, Ms. Nunez has managed several multicultural markets across the region that have given her the opportunity to see different points of view. As director of communications for The Trust, her love for children and passion for creative marketing will meet.
For today’s Story Hour, Ximena Nunez read The Kindness Book by Todd Parr. This book explores the value and joy in being kind to others. No matter what other people choose to do, you can always choose to be kind –and what a wonderful thing to be! Today’s parents and teachers are looking for ways to instill empathy and kindness in children at a young age –this book is the perfect introduction to a timely and timeless topic.

Fit Club Presented by LaCroix with Marlene G. Lluberes

This week’s #DGFG Fit Club presented by LaCroix featured strength coach, Marlene G. Lluberes. Marlene led us through an energetic full body workout that can be done from the comfort of your home!
A lawyer by profession, Sports Nutritionist, Personal Trainer and Strength Coach with more than 5 years of experience in these areas. Marlene’s fitness journey started when she became a mother and realized she had a bad relationship with food. Through research and discipline she found a balance within diet and exercise. From that point on she decided to dedicate herself to changing lives, specifically transforming people’s relationship with food. She is motivated by the result of her clients, both in the nutritional aspect and in the change in the functioning of their body.
She works with young athletes to help them achieve better results in their performance on the field, with mothers, adults and pregnant women. Her goal is to teach: BALANCE. That a healthy life is the balance between physical, mental and emotional health.
