This Wednesday for Mindful Hour presented by LaCroix Sparkling Water, we were joined by Alexis Georgia. Alexis is a yoga instructor and guided us through some different yoga poses.

Alexis is the Creative Marketing & Yoga Philosophy Training Leader at Yoga Joint Studio. She also has experience doing humanitarian work, and she is passionate about giving back to the community and those in need. She discussed how the instructors at Yoga Joint place a high emphasis on doing work in the community and they all love to volunteer their time.

Alexis’ segment on DGFG Live takes us through a simple set of yoga poses that could be done with the whole family. Alexis introduced the segment by explaining the importance of centering the mind, focusing the heart, and moving the body. She encouraged the use of a yoga mat or doing poses on a non-slip floor surface. The yoga session is for people of all levels of experience, and she provides modifications to make the poses harder or easier.

She explains how yoga is “an all-natural way to settle down”. She talks about how practicing yoga can help us to remain calm in stressful situations in everyday life. When we practice yoga, our body uses muscle memory to help us deal with stress and refrain from getting as overwhelmed as quickly. You can take part in Alexis’ full yoga session over on our Instagram @LLFoundation!

Make sure to tune in for more segments, Monday and Wednesday @LLFoundation at 3 pm EST!
