This Monday’s Do Good Feel Good Live started off with a live saxophone performance from Overtown Youth Center Student Derylson, for our Craft Night Program.
Derylson is a 17 year old teenager in his junior year at Booker T. Washington Senior High School. At the moment he is going to school in person and is preparing to have a chill senior year. When he goes to college he is planning on majoring in Biological Engineering at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University (FAMU) in Tallahassee, he would also be part of the Marching 100, which is the official name of the marching band at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. Derylson serenaded us with his saxophone which he had been playing since elementary school. He mentioned to us that in the beginning he did not start off with the saxophone he actually started off with the trumpet but he eventually got put on the saxophone because no one wanted to play the saxophone because of all the buttons it has. Once he got on the saxophone he could not get off of it. The attribute that Deryson likes most about himself is that he has drive with anything he does, it could be in music, in school, at home he makes sure he always has drive. In the future he hopes his job will consist of him innovating economical issues, which means if there is a building that is not in the right area he will be the person they call to come and move it where it needs to be or fix the situation.
Thank you, Derylson! You can follow Overtown Youth Center on Instagram @oycmiami.

Local 10 was the first South Florida station to send a crew to cover the catastrophic Category 5 storm that ravaged large portions of the Florida Panhandle. In addition to that, Alex also traveled to Pittsburgh to cover the horrific mass shooting at the Tree of Life Synagogue in October 2018. Local 10 was the only South Florida station that traveled to Pittsburgh.

During her off time, Alex enjoys spending time with family, volunteering in her community and
relaxing when she can. She loves being back in South Florida telling the stories that affect the community she’s called home since childhood.
