The Little Lighthouse Foundation Creation

The Little Lighthouse Foundation (“LLF”) and its volunteers continue to create programs benefiting underserved youth. With the deployment of its 3,000+ volunteers and its various programs, LLF is able to provide relief to the underserved children and families within the community.

In 2004, LLF Founder Robert Sena moved from New York City to Miami and operated the Miami chapter of his favorite New York City-based organization. In 2010, he decided it was in the best interest of the facilities and children he served in the Miami area to create an organization based and operated in South Florida. Recruiting the help of active LLF board members and co-founders Aaron Resnick and Charlie Venturi, the Little Lighthouse Foundation was born in January 2010. LLF then launched its first program, Adopt-a-Meal, at Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) where volunteers serve meals to the families of children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals.

Since then, LLF has grown in strides. In 2016, The Little Lighthouse Foundation impacted the lives of over 3,400 children with over 7,000 volunteer hours. LLF was able to implement 24 programs with 12 different partner facilities across South Florida, impacting children of all ages.

The Little Lighthouse Foundation aims to make volunteer opportunities accessible for those who are ready and willing to give their time. We encourage individuals who are looking for a way to invest in their community to volunteer at our programs. Any LLF volunteer will tell you there is no feeling comparable to positively impacting a child’s day, year or even their life. The feeling of gratification is inarguably two-fold, as volunteers leave our programs feeling just as fulfilled as the children do.

We hope you’ll come see LLF’s impact for yourself by signing up for one of our programs today.
