NextGen’s mission is to foster entrepreneurship through mentorship, scholarships, and seed capital to young entrepreneurs. Nick and Ashley Sarnicola, founders of NextGen, are successful proven entrepreneurs with a passion for passing their strategies on to future generations of entrepreneurs. They are thrilled to partner with the Little Lighthouse Foundation to bring entrepreneurship to at risk youth in Miami.
Miami Children’s Initiative is a 501C3 nonprofit organization focused on transforming Liberty City into a prosperous community. In partnership with Liberty City’s residents, youth, religious centers, schools, businesses and nonprofit organizations, MCI seeks to address the needs of its community by investing in its children. Miami Children’s Initiative and its partners are making bold moves to transform the lives of the children and families in our community by providing a unified system of support, education and care that begins before birth through college and career.
Call 2 Action gives at risk youth the opportunity to learn fundamental concepts necessary to launching their own business. By inviting successful entrepreneurs, guest speakers, and incorporating field trips and seed funding, Call 2 Action strives to show youth alternate pathways to success.
Students will finish the course with a fully articulated business plan and newfound knowledge about available resources in the community. Through the completion of the course, students will have the opportunity to develop their business plans step by step, meet successful entrepreneurs who will serve as mentors, and compete for seed funding or college scholarships to continue entrepreneurial studies in an accredited university.
